Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly, such as account registration details, saved searches, saved vehicles, preferences, and feedback or support submissions. We also log usage information automatically, including search queries, page views, device characteristics, browser type, and IP address. Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and understand how the site is used.

Payments and subscriptions

Premium subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you begin or manage a subscription, Stripe may collect payment-card details, billing details, transaction information, and information used for fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Stripe processes that information under its own privacy policy.

SalvageWatch does not store your full payment-card number or security code. We receive and store limited billing records needed to operate Premium, such as Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, selected plan, subscription status, billing-period dates, and payment or cancellation status.

How we use information

We use collected data to operate, maintain, and improve SalvageWatch; provide and manage Premium subscriptions; enforce account limits; personalize search results; deliver requested notifications; monitor site performance; prevent abuse; and communicate with you about billing, updates, or support requests. Aggregated, de-identified analytics may be shared internally to guide product improvements.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us process payments, host the site, send email or other requested notifications, provide support, prevent fraud, or analyze usage, subject to appropriate contractual obligations. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SalvageWatch, our users, or the public.

Data retention

We retain account and subscription records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of eligible account data, but some transaction and billing records may need to be retained as required by law.

Your choices

You can review and update your account information from your profile page and manage an existing Premium subscription through Stripe's customer portal. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings; disabling cookies may affect certain site features.
